...From the strength of the “Brass band” to the sensuality of the female voices...
BANDA PASSÒ is a score for bands and traditional songs which rediscovers a very ancient popular repertoire, ranging from ritual tarantellas to Moorish music. This repertoire allows a musical-theatrical performance of the most archaic signs of the Mediterranean culture built around the sea. This is the "Mare Nostrum", the same sea that enabled its people to develop a great civic sense in welcoming man and women from foreign lands; the same sea that brought to us the Turks, Saint Nicholas, the Sybyls, the Tarantulas and the Music, the Mermaid, the folktales and anything that contributed to the cultural prosperity of our minds.

NEWS
In popular culture the band has always been synonymous with celebration: in processions, both when accompanying saints and Virgins with its harrowing melodies and when mourning pagan fetishes with its irreverent sounds. The music score is inserted into a tale, a modern tale about the refusal of all those other people travelling in the Mediterranean Sea, almost like in little boats made of paper, sometimes unable to find a landing along the coast. Those other people are children, women, old men and young men. This work is dedicated to them.

Naples and Marseilles in one "heart"
Beyond the clichés that seem to unite Naples and Marseilles in the vision that makes them the whole of Europe , which brings together these two countries, both ancient urban familiarity , it is the submission of all aspects of the world their singularity.
The four female voices of “Assurd” and the five male voices of “Cor de la Plana”... meet with the quiet confidence of a clear complicity in attendance resulting from a common landscapes and backgrounds shared, even if seen from different points of view .
